The Potocki Collection is clearly associated with Count Andrzej Potocki from Krzeszowice (1861-1908). However, we must remember that the origins of the famous collection date back to the 18th century. It was initiated by Wincenty Potocki (1740-1825). The collection passed to his son, Franciszek Potocki (1788-1853). He was considered a great expert on the subject, and his collection was considered one of the best in Poland. Through subsequent heirs, in the second half of the 19th century it passed into the hands of the most famous collector in this series - Andrzej Potocki from Krzeszowice.
