Description
Canada: 2019 $100 Canadian Maples 10 oz. Pure Silver Coin
Design: Designed by Dominion Sculptor Philip White, your coin is a modern take on the crossed maple bough design of Canada’s early circulation coins (1858-1936). The maple-themed arrangement features one leaf from each of Canada’s 10 native Acer species, which are (clockwise from top right): the bigleaf maple (A. macrophyllum), striped maple (A. pensylvanicum), Manitoba maple (A. negundo), Douglas maple (A. glabrum), mountain maple (A. spicatum), sugar maple (A. saccharum), vine maple (A. circinatum), red maple (A. rubrum), black maple (A. nigrum) and silver maple (A. saccharinum). Also engraved on the reverse are the face value “100 DOLLARS”, the word “CANADA”, and the year “2019”. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
